The story about Steve Creighton
Have you ever been in a career that wasn’t what you actually wanted to do? I’ve had a few of them!
From a young age there were two things that I wanted to do. Join the Navy so I could see the world, and be a builder. (Yes, there is an option to do both).
At age 15 (yes, 15) step one was complete when I entered the Navy. I discovered shortly after, that there were no vacancies for me to build.
So they said, “Mr. Creighton, you can be a cook instead”. Long story short, I ended up cooking for years and despised it by the end. Safe to say it was NOT my passion.
I’ve taken on a lot of different roles since then, but never truly happy in any of them.
Experience
In 1994, my wife and I built our first house. I took out a license to build, hired my tradie mates and was their labourer from start to finish. From that experience I gained a great depth of building knowledge and loved every minute of it. Those skills have stayed with me and serve me well today.
We have recently renovated our current family home in Cranbourne, turning a tired 1970’s brick veneer into a stunning 21st century home. Again, loved it all.
I was making very good money in my last position as a field officer in the finance industry, but money is not the be all to end all. There’s more to life than that.
So, it was time to finally do something I love rather than just working to pay the bills.
At the start of 2019 Cranbourne Home Improvements was born.
Today, I’m actually doing a job I love and having the chance to really help other people by removing stress from my customer’s lives. Life is good!
Trust is earned, not given
It’s often stressful to invite a “stranger” into your home. For your peace of mind, I have current Police Check certification as well as Working with Children certification and I’m fully insured.
I believe in being transparent with my customers and I will happily provide any original documentation as proof, so that you can rest easy and feel safe in your own home.
Also, being a one man show, when you hire me, you get ME ! I pick up the phone and return calls. You’ll be speaking directly with me throughout the entire process!
I’m the guy you deal with from the the beginning to beyond the end. You won’t have some random person turning up because I do it all myself.
